My 6th Birthday!

I was born January 1st, 2007

I had a birthday party last weekend with 24 of my closest Chihuahua friends.  I got to eat peanut butter cake and mini cheese and spinach cupcakes from the Happy Dog Bakery in Downers Grove.  Here are some photos from my birthday party - enjoy!...

New Trick

I have been going to school at K9 Tailshakers to learn new tricks.  One of them is 'take a bow.'  Still working on perfecting that (need lots of carrots) - but am getting there.  In the meantime I practiced my 'bang! bang!' (play dead) trick over the weekend at the dog park, then we went for some treats.  Wanna see?

WHAT A DAY! Wear a Dress, Go on TV & Meet Teresa Giudice and Jonathon Brandmeier!

I had a great opportunity presented me where I was asked to model an outfit on NBC Channel 5. I was really thrilled to arrive at NBC studios but as we were on the lower level we had a hard time finding the door. We finally bumped into a nice woman who was standing outside the studio back doors, and she happened to be the producer for the Brandmeier show. I shook her paw and she told me they were waiting upstairs and she would guide me through. She asked if she could hold me (who am I to say no?) and took me through security and through a maze down the main elevators.   WoW - Check out the video here: They took me into a conference room where several other doggies were already getting fitted for the outfits. I introduced myself and shook everyone's paws and then they began to dig for my outfit to wear. Uh! OH! the owner of Sophisticated Pup indicated she had forgotten I was a boy and did not bring a specific boy outfit... as that was already taken and she wanted to showcase an outfit she had created for Tori Spelling's dog! And - it was a dress. Well, I am an equal opportunity dresser who embraces his feminine side - who am I to say no?

I soon put on the dress and remained in the conference room where I was told Jonathon Brandmeier was interviewing Teresa Giudice - from Housewives of New Jersey. COOL! We were to come out while she was being interviewed, our outfits would be described and we'd move through the studio and out. That sounds easy enough!

Before we left Teresa said how cute I was and asked if she could get a picture with me. Someone took a photo of her holding me (but they haven't sent it to me yet). She was really, really nice. She did add me to her Twitter account - cool. As I walked out I bumped into a really nice man who shook my paw - his name was Bruce Wolf. We chatted for a couple of minutes then I was on my way to take off the little tutu. We then got called back in for a final photo and were told when the show would air. 

 Fun day for me!

Modeling at the International Kennel Club in February!

I had a pretty busy month in February. I modeled this beatiful plum outfit by Sophisticated Pup at the International Kennel Club's fashion show at McCormick Place. Afterwards my daddy bought it for me - it's reversible!

Holiday Potluck Party!

Well, here I am with Santa. I took this photo at my holiday potluck. We collected $140 for Animal Welfare League and the Trio Foundation. We also had a sweater exchange. People brought sweaters, carriers, toys and leashes (any dog items) they no longer needed and paid whatever they thought it was worth. All funds and leftover/unsold items would go to the foundation and shelter to use for dogs needing homes. Always helpful for those foster homes when they have tiny chihuahuas needing sweaters.

New Assisted Living Home Visit

On Saturday we visited a new place in Palos. The residents were really nice. One resident said she really liked me sitting on her lap and did not want me to leave. They asked me to come back at Christmastime to do some tricks. Maybe I will do my spin? I don't know. We'll have to see. Always nice to make new friends!

I passed my TDI and I get a Howl-O-Ween Party!

We are going to be so busy this month! This weekend I am going to the Sunrise nursing home facility and next weekend is my Howl-O-Ween Pizza party. I don't get to eat pizza anymore (due to wheat allergies), but I get cupcakes!

My mommy and daddy asked a friend who is in culinary school to make special doggy cupcakes I can eat (which don't have wheat). All my doggy friends are going to celebrate with me. I cannot wait to eat my cupcakes. All of them. Yum.

We are also looking around for a banana costume for me to wear for the party. We are inviting some doggies that need adoping to the party and collecting funds for the shelter. My friends at K9 Tailshakers are our space hosts (they are awesome!) and Speck photography is going to take pictures of my friends in their costumes. We are also having a costume contest. I can't wait to see what everyone is going to wear.

Plum Creek Nature Preserve Visit

Recently visited Plum Creek Nature preserve - will be posting more details soon. We did a walk through the preserve and were taught about how dogs spread their scent to mark the areas. The people there were very nice, and afterwards we did paw prints in the sand. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait to go again.

P.A.W.S. Walk for Homeless Animals

Did the PAWS walk for Homeless Animals in Tinley Park on Sunday. Walked the entire time. Someone told me it was 1.5 miles ++ I think they lied. Felt more like 10!
