Wordless Wednesday - Cinco De Mayo 2013!

Had a great time celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Twenty three chihuahuas took part in the festivities. We had Mexican food, music and briefly discussed chihuahua history. From my understanding chihuahuas may be descendants of the Techichi. Also learned we are one of the healthiest breeds around that can also live up to 20 years; though one of the longest known living chihuahuas was approximately 25 years old!

I thought I would share some of my party photos as well as some of my Chihuahua-Mexi-looks (in case someone wants to hire me as a ranchero for their movie, don't you know?)

This is my "Oh so Chic (chihuahua)" look!

Having fun with friends!

Humans bring all sorts of great food to MY party - but don't let me have any...

Ok, OK, that was a fib.  They did let me have some corn taco shells and tomatoes, and they also had a table for Chihuahuas only, filled with baby carrots and grain free organic dog treats.  But no one took a picture of it.

Chihuahuas come in all shapes and sizes... can you find me in this photo?

This is my Clint Eastwood scowl: "Do you feel lucky?

Don't make me go all Chihuahua on you!"

We had a nice time celebrating with friends and learning more about my heritage.  All that fun and posing made me really tired afterwards.  I took a really, really long nap when I got home.

Trying to Get Good Photographs...

Had a fun day with my friend Birdie. We were trying to get some good photos of us together. Mom had a hard time getting us both to look at the camera. Check some of the photos out!

Chihuahua Awareness Fiesta Benefit - Guest Model

I was able to help other animals in need!  I was asked to guest model for the Chihuahua Awareness Fiesta Benefit at the Helium Gallery.  Money collected went to bring awareness to the overabundance of chihuahuas needing homes.  A lot of people do not understand our breed and often bring us into home situations that are not ideal.  They forget that with training and proper socialization, we can be a good fit for most families.  Because chihuahuas can be fragile, we do best in families with children over 12 years old, single adults, or couples.  Petfinder is a good place to find any type or size dog across the United States needing homes.  You can also find out the dog's history to see if they are a good match with your home life situation.

Sophisticated Pup donated the Burberry inspired jacket I wore, which was then put up for auction. The highest bidder got to take it home.  It was fun to see so many people helping animals in need, and I was happy to be invited to model - check out a couple of my photogs on the runway!

Wordless Wednesday: Ode To Pizza

I loved you in the morning,
I loved you late at night.
I ate gigantic portions,

in tiny little bites.
But now that I'm allergic, it hit me with such might...
I've grown too sad to hate you,
good-bye, my heart's delight!

1st Day on Vacation in Florida and...

...the rest of the world seeks out time by the lovely blue ocean during a sun filled day.  They want to see the beautiful blue waves comb the sandy beach.  They like the smell of the ocean and the sounds of all the waves crashing in.

As for me vacationing means extra fluffy blankets. I want to swim in a sea of utter fluffyness.  I like to hide between the fluffness keeping warm and only peeking through when the swirling aroma of treats reach the perimeter of the fluffyness oasis.

Hanging Out With My Friends from South Suburban Chihuahua

Today we had a meetup at K9 Tailshakers.  Several of my chihuahua friends were there.  K9 Tailshakers provides training, dog day care and spa services.  I finalized my training and tested for my therapy assist dog certification there.  They  have a very clean and well kept facility with outstanding staff.   It is not St. Patrick's day yet, but I got all dressed up to celebrate.  After all, my daddy is Irish - don't you know?!

Some of us are trying to sleep!
