Okay I had to bring out my Canine Body Language book by Brenda Aloff for this one .. so Weasel has tight lips, and his ears pulled back as if something was clearly bothering him, you can see whites in his eyes looking towards the camera, but his muzzle is facing towards the other dogs (as if he is paying attention what the other dogs are doing). In this moment there was no backward, or forward movement on Weasel's part. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm This makes me ponder.. ?? Just a quick question what did Weasel do after this shot? Just wanted know, because I'm trying to get better at reading dogs body language. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Francesca
ReplyDeleteIn response to your question -- before the photo, Weasel was sitting right where you see him, observing the play fighting. So my Momma thought it would be a great time to take a photo.
DeleteWeasel always has his ears down - very rare to see them up. After the photo, he continued to sit right where you see him. When we play, he typically seems disinterested and just watches or sleeps (he's old). If there were a toy involved, he might have tried to join in. But generally, he will play mostly outdoors with toys that are thrown across the backyard.
I think Weasel is longing to get away for some peace and quiet!
ReplyDeleteTrue --- we think he might be trying to referee!
